Event for Internationals

We cordially invite all international participants of the congress to a special reception. It will begin with a one-hour guided tour of the city on the subject of ‘National Socialism and Resistance in Munich’, during which you will get to know the city from a historical and at the same time thought-provoking perspective. Afterwards, we will welcome you in the Senate Hall of the University – drinks and refreshments will also be provided. Take the opportunity to talk to each other, socialise and experience Munich beyond the lectures – we look forward to seeing you!

Evening of the GEW

The Education and Science Union (GEW) cordially invites you to the traditional GEW evening on Monday.

Newly elected and re-elected members of the GEW Executive Board will introduce themselves and their work. After a welcome drink, there will be an opportunity for an informal exchange of ideas with representatives of GEW, DGfE and other congress participants over a sumptuous dinner. Vegetarian and vegan food will be provided. There will also be musical entertainment.

Congress Dinner

On Tuesday evening, we cordially invite you to the DGfE’s traditional social evening – this year at a very special location: the world-famous Hofbräuhaus in Munich. Founded in 1589 by Duke Wilhelm V, the Hofbräuhaus is one of the most famous beer houses in the world. For centuries, it has been a lively meeting place for Munich locals and guests from all over the world. Personalities such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Empress Elisabeth of Austria (‘Sisi’) have also spent time here. Look forward to a convivial evening in an atmosphere steeped in history – with a hearty snack full of Bavarian specialities, musical accompaniment and a touch of Bavarian joie de vivre.

Movement Break

Treat yourself to a short break for body and mind: under the guidance of Matthias Lexa, we invite you to take an invigorating exercise break – ideal after long periods of sitting. With simple exercises that can be done every day, you can kick-start your day, improve your concentration and start the next session with renewed energy.

Closing event

To round off the congress, we cordially invite you to the joint closing event. In a relaxed atmosphere, the Local Organising Committee and the Board of the DGfE would like to bid farewell to all remaining participants – with heartfelt thanks for your contributions, your participation and the joint success of the congress. You can look forward to a short musical programme, personal words of farewell and a small gift to take home.
