Attached you will find answers to the most important questions regarding the Call for Papers. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our congress office at dgfe2026@edu.lmu.de.
When is the deadline for submitting a contribution?
You can submit a contribution via ConfTool until April 23rd, 2025, 11:59 pm (GMT +1).
What is the difference between a symposium, a workgroup and a research and topic forum?
A symposium must have a clear connection to the conference theme “Disruptures.” A workgroup may relate to the conference theme, but this is not a requirement. Research and topic forums are entirely flexible in their design.
How many characters may the submission contain?
For the encasing abstract, you have 4,000 characters including spaces available. For each individual contribution within a joint submission, you have 1,500 characters including spaces available.
Which formats are suitable for the research and topic forum?
Lectures, presentations or discussions are well suited for the research and topic forum. The “poster session” format is available for the presentation of a poster.
Can I submit a poster in addition to a symposium, a work group or a research and topic forum?
Yes, this does not fall under the double presentation ban. You may submit a symposium, a work group or a research and topic forum and also a poster.
How are individual contributions assigned?
A topic forum consists of three individual posts. When assigning or grouping them, care is taken to ensure that the individual contributions are thematically as close together as possible. The moderator for the thematic forum will be provided by the Local Organizing Committee.
How can I submit a contribution?
You can submit your contribution via ConfTool (LINK).
What is meant bei researchers in qualification phases?
Researchers in qualification phases include all individuals in the pre- or post-doctoral stage. Individuals holding a professorial or private lecturer (Privatdozent:in) title are not included.
What is an encasing abstract?
A symposium, a work group, or a research forum usually consists of individual contributions that address different aspects of a topic. The encasing abstract should explain how these individual contributions are interconnected. It thus provides the thematic framework or unifying structure for the individual contributions.
Does an encasing abstract also have to be submitted for an individual contribution?
No, there’s no need for an encasing abstract .
Do references count towards the maximum number of references?
In the text itself or in the encasing abstract, it is sufficient to provide an abbreviated bibliography (author, year). As part of the submission form in ConfTool, there is a field in which you can enter your whole bibliography.
Can I submit a symposium or a working group as an individual?
Unfortunately this is not possible. A symposium or working group must consist of at least two contributors. As an individual, you can only submit a single contribution for a thematic forum.
